Touch Football Australia (TFA) and Touch New Zealand (TNZ) are pleased to announce that the 2010 Masters Trans Tasman Test Series (MTTTS) will be in Townsville, Queensland.

The MTTTS will be held in conjunction with the North Queensland Senior Championships at Queens Park, which will be held on Saturday, 12 and Sunday, 13 June 2010.

North Queensland Touch Executive Officer, Billy Grant said “Townsville will be a wonderful back drop to the event with great facilities, attractions and weather worthy of the international event”. Billy Grant added, “There is also an expectation for a large crowd with teams travelling from all across the region to
attend the event”.

Colm Maguire said, “North Queensland has always been a strong area for the sport of Touch Football and TFA are very excited about being able to take an event to the region and hope that there is a ripple effect in the local Touch Football community”.

The MTTTS will take place approximately 12 months out from the 2011 World Cup and both nations will use the tournament to kick off their respective campaigns.
Both nations have clashed in Youth and Open divisions and the Senior spectacle completes the player pathway and reinvigoration of the highly successful Trans Tasman Test Series. The Trans Tasman rivalry has fully been renewed and all will look forward to the continuation of the exciting clashes witnessed in the last 12 months.

Selection processes for both nations will occur at their respective national events in March.

The sport of Touch continues to flourish on the international scene and the third installment of the Trans Tasman will provide an avenue for all players to strive for, regardless of age.
